The Advanced Placement American Government students of Catherine McAuley High School will be representing the State of Maine in the national “We the People” competition on knowledge and application of the United States Constitution. The team will be traveling to Washington, D.C. during the weekend of May 2. The format of this program, sponsored by the Center for Civic Education [ www.civiced.org ], is a mock legislative hearing during which the students collectively present a prepared statement and then converse with a panel of judges during a subsequent question and answer period. |
